Students are not fully engaged with the opportunities that are offered on campus. This is not for lack of services, but simply because students are either uninformed or uninspired. Students need to know what is happening around them right now, today, tomorrow, or any time in the future.
Our college currently also lacks a platform for students to easily engage with each other en masse and for the administration to identify students’ needs. There is also a lack of real-time data collection for students. These problems affect student experience at the school, and heighten a mismatch between expectation and reality.
After understanding the goals, our team started brainstorming about the next steps. We decided to start with conducting user research to understand what users think and expect. Depending on the time and resources we have, we decided to focus on user survey, user interview, and peer analysis.
The research will focus on:
Users’ expectations, perceptions, likes/dislikes, and level of awareness of college services
Services that are used for distributing information
Information architecture of the App
